Bottled Water Linked To Tooth Decay

According to spokesman on pediatric dentistry for the ADA (American Dental Association), Jonathan D. Shenkin, fluoride is an extremely important ingredient that promotes a healthy smile. It is important to brush the teeth at last twice a day using a fluoride toothpaste, visit the dentist every six months for a fluoride treatment and drink water that is fluoridated.

Dentistry Fears

Many of us grew up with parents or grandparents who would tell us stories of how hard they had it growing up.  Many of our grandparents lived through the depression and had very little money and had to work very hard.  Health care for their teeth was at the bottom of their priorities.  Often they needed basic necessities live food and shelter before they could work on preventative care for their teeth.  Dental techniques weren’t what they are today, so many had good reason to fear the pain of visiting a dentist if they were able to go to one.

Currently, fear of pain seems to be the main reason why people are still avoiding the dentist, even though pain relief techniques are state of the art.  A recent poll revealed the top 5 reasons people fear (or even hate) the dentist:
